Monel K500, also referred to as Monel UNS No5500 Sheet  is an age hardened Nickel Copper based alloy. 2.4375 Monel K500 Shim Sheet is an alloy which combines the corrosion resistance properties  of Alloy 400 with an increase in its properties, namely –  high strength corrosion fatigue and erosion resistance.

A cold working procedure prior to the precipitation hardening process could further strengthen the Monel K500 Plate. The ASTM B127 specification for rolled nickel-copper-based Monel 400 can be utilized in the production of components like plate, ASTM B127 Monel K500 Sheet, and strip because it covers the material. Similar to Monel alloy 400, the material used in the production of UNS N05500 Monel K500 Strip must also meet the specifications for the chemistry of the specified Alloy K500 B127 Coil in addition to the required mechanical properties.

In addition to confirming the required grain size, the specified Monel Alloy K500 Strip Tape includes mechanical properties like tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Rockwell hardness. The Alloy K500 Monel 2.4375 Cold Rolled Plate, like Monel 400, demonstrates superior resistance to corrosion in a wide variety of marine and chemical environments due to the alloy’s higher tensile strength over the parent alloy. These excellent mechanical properties can be found across a wide range of temperatures, from below zero to approximately 480 degrees Celsius. This means that when the Monel 2.4375 Shim Stock is exposed to these environments, the Monel K500 Steel Polished Cold Drawn Plate can resist corrosion from pure water to non-oxidizing mineral acids, salts, and alkalis.
